+Thrak
I have City Select and am thinking of getting TOPO as well. I've always understood that you could load both on the GPSr and then simply use the menu to select which maps to use. I recently saw a thread where someone said that loading the TOPO maps overwrote his City Navigator maps. If this is the case, how does one go about loading both types of maps so that you can choose between them when using the unit? Quote Link to comment
SergZak
If you upload ALL the maps you are going to use in the same MapSource session, all the maps will get uploaded. If you already have maps on the GPS, then proceed to upload more, the mapset on the GPS will be erased and will be replaced by the mapset you're uploading. The key is to upload everything in the same MapSource session. Edited June 28, 2007 by SergZak Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
When you get the Topo maps, first, copy the data on the three CDs to your harddrive and do the installation from that location. Then you won't have to insert the CDs when you want to use the Topo maps on your computer. Also, make sure you download the Patch from the Garmin site and install that. Then, once the maps are installed, there is a "drop down" menu in Mapsource. You choose all the map segments you want from the City Navigator maps, then you select Topo from the list. Now you select all the segments you want from those maps. After that you send the maps to your GPSr. If you aren't using a card reader, and depending on how many maps you are sending, this can take a long time.
