Travel Bug etiquette

HI there,

I have posted on my traditional cache pages that I am travelling overseas and wish to take TB's with me.

However I have heard I should ask TB owners for permission to do so.

I do check for any specific info, i.e. to stay in North America, but if there's none, is it OK to send it on this longer journey?

I can't see anything in the forums (though I haven't scoured the topics) or FAQ's on this.

I don't want to make a mis-step.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

As long as it isn't against the bugs goals and you don't drop it in a remote cache that gets visited once every two years, I don't see any reason why you would need to ask the owner. But hey, better safe then sorry I guess. Go ahead and ask them, they can only say no.

I always ask if there are any concerns. Especially if is going against the mission of the TB. I email them and say I know what the mission is and if you want I'll just take it with, log it in a cache for miles, take some pics and bring it back for placing.

Of course if the mission is something like "to travel from cache to cache" then by all means I'm happy to oblige
