+GRNZOOM Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Is it possible to check on my Garmin 60csx the maps (states) I downloaded from City Navigator V-8? An inventory of the states that have been D/L'ed on the SD card. Thanks! Nick Quote

An inventory of the states that have been D/L'ed on the SD card. Thanks! Nick The simpliest way is to zoom out alot on your map screen of your GPSr, for instance to the 500 mi. zoom level, and all of the map segments will show for the areas that you have downloaded to your GPSr. The state boundaries show, but the map segements are a broader line, you can tell the difference. This is assuming you have CN set up to view in you map setup on the GPSr. Quote
AbercrombieHollister Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Hi Nick, I do not think that you can, but i have never tryed. Maybe someone with more experiance will reply. ThaNKS, AbercormbieHollister Quote
+apersson850 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 You can also go throuh each and every map tile in the list in the Map Setup on your unit. But the names of these tiles aren't always that obvious. The could be named after some handy little city on the map tile, a city you've never heard of, and then it's not of much use. Quote

The easiest way is to connect the GPSr to the computer, run MapSource, and use the "Receive from Device" options with "Maps" checked in "What to Receive". This doesn't actually transfer the maps back; just gives you a list of the maps in the MapSource "Maps" window. Quote
+apersson850 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 It works if you have that same maps on that PC, which you probably have, if it's your computer and the one you normally use to interface with GPS units. But if you've loaded a mix of City Navigator and Topo maps, and upload map info to a computer that's lacking the Topo maps, then you'll not know which topographic maps you've installed. Quote

That's a good point; I was assuming that he would be using the same computer. I thought the list might still appear even though the maps weren't available, but I'll take your word for it; I don't want to uninstall the maps on my computer just to check it out The other thing I do is save the file I used to download the maps, with a name such as "Mapload_Date.gdb"; that way I can easily go back and see what I currently have loaded, or previously loaded for some project/trip. +apersson850 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I haven't checked in the list, but you are right, it's probably there. I know that a pop-up gives you the message that you've uploaded map data that's not present on the computer you are using right now. It could still be in the list, of course. I don't have any GPS at hand to try that with right now. Quote
