+maxstead
OK, I am a noob, but here is my question. I recently purchased a legend cx and am trying to load custom POIs to my unit in order to evade the max waypoint limit. I took the pocketquery file (500 local traditional caches) and loaded it to the unit with MapSource - it gave me the OK - success. Trouble is that when I go to POI, Custom, it is empty. I also downloaded an icon, put it in the same directory as my pocketquery, and still no go. Please help...... Quote Link to comment
+Chuy!
Going verbatim with what you said, you didn't download POIs but, rather, waypoints. MapSource is not used to download POI's - you use POI software such as Garmin's POILoader. I hope this is the problem 'cause I don't know what else it could be. Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Yes, you need to put your Pocket query file(s) in a directory on your PC. Then run POI Loader and point it to that directory. Then they will be loaded as Custom POIs. Also, make sure that the icon is named EXACTLY the same as the GPX file (except for the extension) and then it will load as a Custom Icon.
