+Pop's Posse
Is there a workaround for the 200 cache limit in the explorist 500 gps? Quote Link to comment
+JimyLee
Just keeping multiple GC files stored on the card rather than trying to do it all in one large file. I haven't seen any solid work-arounds for actually exceeding that cap in one file though, sorry. Quote Link to comment
+Images4U
I have a macro that will automatically split the geocaches into multiple files, based on distance from GSAK center point, which in my case is my home coordinates. It names the files 2-23-Local, 23-45-Local, 45-67-Local, etc. The "Local is just my designation for my local area caches (GSAK database name). The numbers are the distance. Sometimes it's a pain to have to switch files as I move away from my home coordinates, but it's the best workaround I've found. It will take thousands of geocaches & split them into 200 cache files in a couple of seconds. I didn't write the macro, but found it on the GSAK form, I think. I did modify the macro to change the destination folder. Let me know if you need the macro or need further help. Quote Link to comment
