OBX Broadband?

After more research, I found an email & contacted Outer Banks Wireless Access Network (OBXWAN). This is their response.

Barrier Island Station (which is where we are staying) is completely covered by our network - just do a "find wireless networks" with your computer's wi-fi utility and select any OBXwan node that gives you a good signal. After connecting - just open up your favorite browser and you will be redirected to the login and purchase portal.

Additonally, there is a free wireless service in the area called "OBXFREEWIFI" (not affiliated with us) that you may be able to pick up. It is extremely slow and adds local advertising to each page you load but may meet your needs.

Hope this helps others going to this area.

Yuck. Boy am I fortunate to have access to a VPN (the middleman can't stick an ad on the page if they can't decrypt the communication :anitongue: ). Still, that may work in a pinch. Hope you have a great trip.
