Phil the nube again....

When grabbing a trackable item and then registering it - does this get automatically posted to Google Earth to update the "tracking line" and "stop" marker or does one need to manually update Google Earth when finding a trackable item? Been a long day and thought it would be quicker to post this vs do the research.

Yawn - tired not board man !

Thanks !

Phil

? no idea what you are talking about mabye a little clarification? :P sorry mabye someone else can help you?

happy to clarify...

in the description page for a trackable item off to the right there are trackable item options that you can click on:

Found it Log it

Watch this trackable item

Print info sheet

View in Google Earth

when you click on view in google earth it launches google earth - my assumption is that you either have to have this installed (freeware) on your computer or if you dont perhaps it asks if you want to install it.

Its a satilite view of the world that you can navigate.

Long story short it appears to show the path that the trackable item has taken VERY COOL !

Just not sure if this is automatically done when you register a trackable item or if the one finding the trackble item has to do the updating.

Anyone else had fun with this feature??

The link you select for "View in Google Earth" is only generating a (.KML) file that Google Earth opens and reads. The new location will not automatically update in Google Earth when you go back at a later date.

I recommend adding the trackable item to your watch list. This way you can see the progress.
