phillipderstein
Phil the nube again.... When grabbing a trackable item and then registering it - does this get automatically posted to Google Earth to update the "tracking line" and "stop" marker or does one need to manually update Google Earth when finding a trackable item? Been a long day and thought it would be quicker to post this vs do the research. Yawn - tired not board man ! Thanks ! Phil Quote Link to comment

phillipderstein
? no idea what you are talking about mabye a little clarification? sorry mabye someone else can help you? happy to clarify... in the description page for a trackable item off to the right there are trackable item options that you can click on: Found it Log it Watch this trackable item Print info sheet View in Google Earth when you click on view in google earth it launches google earth - my assumption is that you either have to have this installed (freeware) on your computer or if you dont perhaps it asks if you want to install it. Its a satilite view of the world that you can navigate. Long story short it appears to show the path that the trackable item has taken VERY COOL ! Just not sure if this is automatically done when you register a trackable item or if the one finding the trackble item has to do the updating. Anyone else had fun with this feature?? +S-t-r-g-z-r
The link you select for "View in Google Earth" is only generating a (.KML) file that Google Earth opens and reads. The new location will not automatically update in Google Earth when you go back at a later date. I recommend adding the trackable item to your watch list. This way you can see the progress.
