marcnick1
Is it possible to geocache with a garmin edge 205? I mountain bike a lot and have recently picked up geocaching. I was wondering if anybody has personally used a garmin edge 205 to geocache. Also, can you put road maps on a garmin edge 205 or can you only navigate with the compass? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+T F T C
As long as you can enter coordinates into your unit, you can geocache with it. Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
Edge 205 is not a mapping unit. It's pretty clumsy as a caching unit due to to the limited interface, but you can load up to 100 waypoints into it via tools like GPSBabel (and thus GSAK) into it. It does have the "compass" screen (it's not really a magnetic compass) that most cachers prefer to hunt with. Quote Link to comment
