Map Quest Problems

Background info: After not using the geocaching website for a few months, I now cannot get the MapQuest map to expand as previously. I used this feature a lot to help locate cache sites.

Upon further exploration, I find the same thing when using MapQuest site directly. All the ads show up, and the grid to move around the map, but no map itself. And, there is an error message at the bottom. I have followed directions to adjust setting and configure my computer, but to no avail.

Cannot figure out why it would work before, and not now. Any ideas?

I've had that happen too sometimes. I just click "Refresh" at the top and usually the map shows up then.

Tried "Refresh". Still doesn't work.

Then you might check your "Security Settings" to see if you are allowed to run ActiveX controls. I have to have mine enabled to make mapquest work and show that red star at the cache site.

I have Windows 2000...

Tools

Internet options

security

Custom level

Run ActiveX controls and plug ins

If you have XP or something else...Check these security settings against someone's computer that is working. or maybe someone here can post their settings.

Georovers2, what browser are you using, and on what operating system? Are you allowing JavaScript and cookies?

Windows XP

Internet Explorer 7

And I am pretty sure we have JavaScript and am allowing cookies.

Thanks for your help.

Hmm, I can't duplicate your problem.

At first I could not enter an address to search! Changing my security setting to medium solved that problem.

Have you tried changing your security setting for the Internet?

If that didn't work, have you tried contacting your ISP?
