I'm surprised the risk of virus/malware on GPS units hasn't been disscussed here before. As soon as you have a GPS that uses a PC for mapping and file support, you are instantly vulnerable to any malicious code that can be put on a PC. So be wary of all the "free" gps map creation and support tools that you can download to your PC. It would be nice if Groundspeak would have a download policy like they have on many PC sites like ZDnet where the software is verified as virus free before you download. TD Quote Link to comment
SandyGarrity
I don't understand why the chap in the artical stated that as they run Linux there is no malware! There is we are forever getting security updates for our Linux servers. Edited February 1, 2007 by SandyGarrity Quote Link to comment
