chuckr30
I have a Garmin 76csx. I set the GPS to point to the geocache so I could see how far and in what direction it was. When I got close to a cache it said "You found it!" and immediately took the cache off my list, and the GPS was no longer pointing to the cache. Now I never found the cache, so how can I keep the GPS from doing this? I want to manually click the Found button when I actually find the cache. Quote Link to comment
+Red90
It should not do that. You should need to press on the "found" button to get it to change. Are you sure that you did not accidentally press enter? Quote Link to comment
chuckr30
I'm sure. I was on the map screen trying to navigate to that geocache. When I got near a message popped up that said "Congratulations! You found it!" at which point there was no longer a line going from my position to the geocache. I then hit the Find button to go to the list of geocaches and it was no longer in the list of geocaches. I think the default list on that screen is "unfound" geocaches, and there is another list called "found", which my geocache had now appeared on. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
I've had this happen, but always by accidentally hitting FOUND from the compass page. I can't explain why it would do it from the map page. If you hit FIND twice, you should see the waypoint (now with an open treasure chest for the symbol). Hit ENTR, cursor up and change the symbol back to closed treasure chest, and you can go find it again. A pain in the neck (or in parts farther south), but that's about the best I can offer. chuckr30
Thanks. It was freezing and I was wearing gloves attempting to hit the MENU key so maybe I hit ENTER instead. Quote Link to comment
