+McLinks
Wouldn't it be nice with a windows sidebar gadget to view geocaching information? Ie. FTF-opportunities etc? I'm looking into this and I challenge YOU to make one before I'm finished with mine! (What the heck is a Sidebar gadget I hear you say? -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Sidebar ) Quote Link to comment

+TheAlabamaRambler
If the TOS allow us to look at the gc data from our computer, what does it matter if we look at it with a Windows Sidebar Gadget or Cachemate or Excel or whatever method we want to look at it? Assuming, of course, that the tool will only access the data that we are entitled to by our membership level (free/Premium). Sharing it is the issue, not tools to look at it, right? Or am I missing something? Quote Link to comment

From the TOU: You agree that you will not use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the Site for any purpose without our express written permission. which is exactly what a sidebar or widget usually does. Cachemate or GSAK and other tools use the PQs; they don't scrape data off the webserver. Edited January 22, 2007 by Mopar Quote Link to comment

+Prairie Dog
I remember some time ago seeing a link to a Geocaching sidebar that was compatible with Internet Explorer. It was basically just a search bar. I don't have the link now but will try to find it in my bookmarks. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Quote Link to comment
+Prairie Dog
Okay, found it. Here is what I was talking about in the above post. http://gdbclub.org/GeoCache/gcsidebar/gcsidebar.html I remember somehow it would function as a drop down sidebar for IE. I didn't build it or anything. I don't think I've ever used it. Quote Link to comment
