freeride
Is there anywhere online where I can download descent base maps onto a Vista Cx. Thanx in advance Quote Link to comment
nonaeroterraqueous
I don't know about downloads. That seems like an aweful lot to load from the web, but there's a bit of really good software made for your Vista that you can buy on CD-ROM. The only trouble is trying to find a vendor to buy it from and doing the research to find out what's compatable. Quote Link to comment
+Woodlit
I bought my vista cx online, and it came with the garmin topo maps cd. The maps are great, and have helped me out many many many times in planning routes to caches, and also finding good spots to place caches. I would recomend the garmin maps, but I don't think you will find them online for free. Quote Link to comment
+Wayfinders
May I suggest a topo microSD card? Best caching tool I've found so far, although newer highways and roads may not show up. You won't be dissapointed. Quote Link to comment
+fratermus
Is there anywhere online where I can download descent base maps onto a Vista Cx. Thanx in advance Basemaps aren't loaded by the consumer under normal circumstances. You can buy and install Garmin maps. I don't think you can buy and download any garmin maps from garmin. You may be able to buy and download garmin-compatible maps from third parties. Bicimaps, perhaps? Don't rememember if they do. If you are looking for free garmin-compatible maps, you could search google for "free garmin maps". Or similar. Google is our friend. Quote Link to comment

nonaeroterraqueous
Looks like fratermus did all the foot-work for you. That pretty much sums it up. Aren't people so nice sometimes? Edited December 29, 2006 by nonaeroterraqueous Quote Link to comment
+CYBret
Gonna send this one over to GPS Units and Software. They might have some good answers there too. Bret Quote Link to comment
