Vista C and National Geographic Topo software for NC and SC

will the National Geographic software work with the Garmin Vista C

 

I don't know what version it is but it is new, I got it for Christmas

 

does this topo software give me the street mapping included??

 

on the website it says:

 

Note: Waypoints and routes will be transferred to your GPS unit, but maps cannot be transferred or viewed on your GPS unit.

No, you will not be able to transfer the National Geographic Topo maps to your GPS unit. They display on your PC only. You can transfer waypoints, tracklogs, and routes from your GPS unit, and they will be overlaid on the PC maps, but it doesn't work the other way around.

garmin city navigator north america

or

garmin city select north america

 

will the topo include the streets?

 

are they all 1:100,000

 

is there anything out there any better?

The Garmin MapSource Topo maps do indeed show most of the same streets that are on the City Select and City Navigator products, but only the major roads and highways have street labels attached, and you don't get most of the Points of Interest like hotels, gas stations, and so forth. You cannot autoroute on the Topo Maps. As far as the scale, I'm not sure that applies, as you can zoom in or out as much as you want.

 

If you want to do autorouting, I suggest City Navigator v8.
