Lots of newer systems do not have serial ports, so you may have to get a USB to serial adapter. I know I did. It's not a big deal, you can get them from Newegg.com for ~$15, but it's just something to consider. As far as XP itself, it works fine. Quote Link to comment

I us a Palm Vx with 8mb, way more than is needed as I loat 500-600 waypoints plus some palm freeware that I found and still only use just over half the storage. Have heard many say they have 500+ on the 2MB versions and have room left over. Quote Link to comment
+NightPilot Posted December 10, 2006 Share Posted December 10, 2006 Get the biggest you can afford. Software (including waypoints and maps) is a gas, and always expands to fill its container. No matter how much memory you have on any device, it will eventually not be enough. I can remember when 10MB was an unbelievably large hard drive for a computer. Now that won't even hold the OS, and 10 gigabytes (1000 times as large) isn't even viable. Quote Link to comment
