geootters
I have been reading this forum forever and still havn't got a GPS but am planning on one sometime. I am most likely going to get City Nav for it and have heard of people fitting the whole US on a one gig card. I have also heard that it takes up 1.6 gigs for the whole US. I am hoping someone with a one gig has City Navigator NT so they can shed some light on the subject. Thanks for the input everyone. Quote Link to comment
+Thrak
I believe the difference you are hearing is between "regular" and "NT" versions. City Select won't fit the entire US on a 1GB card. Not possible. I have it and a 1GB card and it simply can't be done. However, the NT version is different and I have been told many times that it will fit on a 1GB card. Quote Link to comment
+evelbug
I don't have a 1 GB card to try it out on, but I selected all the US, Canada, and Puetro Rico and Mapquest shows it as taking up 946.6 MB. Quote Link to comment
+snark007
Whats the difference between nav 8 and the nt version and can I use nt on a 76 csx? Quote Link to comment
+road_rascal
According to Garmin's website, you can use either version. It looks like the NT version uses different compression software and can only be used by certain GPSr units (less than the regular City Nav version). You need a 2GB card to fit the whole US using City Nav maps. Quote Link to comment
