The new MOZILLA FIREFOX browser version 2.0 is now available....

 

A really neat feature added to this version is built in "as you type" spell checker....

Cool! I've been wanting a spell checker in FireFox, it's the only big thing I didn't like was a lack of one.

Downloaded it... looks pretty much the same. I haven't seen any differences.

 

One thing I don't like already... I had my Tab Mix Plus set up how I like, but now that 2.0 has it's own Tab Mix Plus-style features, it doesn't look like I used to have it. I used to have the tabs color-coded to show whether the pages had been refreshed, for example. Also, the width of the tabs are now fixed, rather than altered to fit the length of the tab name, now resulting in a lot of wasted space. There doesn't seem to be a way to customize that.

 

Otherwise, looks fine, and it's obviously 0.5 better than the last version.

[edit] How does the splle chekker werk? Not att al? Hmm. I have "check my spelling as I type" checked... but I don't see it doing anything.

 

[edit] Ok.. now the spell checker is working... but I have a new complaint. Clicking on a Bookmark opens that bookmark in the current tab. I want it to open a new tab. I don't see anywhere to fix that, either.

As-you-type spell check for Firefox has been around for about a year. You just need to know what extension to install.
