One is a USCGS placed in 1972 and the other a NGS disk placed in 1983. Both show up in the NGS database. Quote

+YeOleImposter Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 I could not see anything wrong with the 1st reset and actually appears to be a 'better' mark. It is in the open with a clear view all around. The 2nd reset is set in the 'V' of two grain silos that are side by side. Here is the 1972 Reset: Here is the 1983 Reset: Quote
Z15 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 (edited) There must have been some concern the 1972 mark was in danger of being lost, maybe road work etc that never materized. Thats about all I can think of. The fact the new was set so far away leads me to belive the 1972 location was thought to be in danger at the time. Edited September 25, 2006 by Z15 Quote
