+Team Black Bear
Is this normal. I use both my 60CS and 60CSx on my boat. The map is set for the track up mode. When moving at a decent speed the triangular pointer points in the correct direction of travel. An example of what I like to do is parallel a shore line and view the shore line ahead of me and view the pointer. When I travel at a slower speed, aprox 8MPH or less for a period of time, the pointer doesn’t show the true direction of travel any longer and at times does not even show that I’m moving The map may even rotate out of orientation. Once I speed up the boat, the pointer will re orient itself, the map shows the correct view and once again movement is shown on the map. Both receivers do the same thing . Is this normal at slower speeds? Why doesn’t this happen when I’m on foot? Hopefully I have explained this correctly or with enough detail that someone will be able to assist me. Press [Menu], highlight Setup, press Enter, highlight the Heading icon and press Enter to open the Heading Setup Page. Highlight the Switch to compass heading when below field and hit Enter. You can set this to your needs. I have mine set to below 2 mph for 15 sec. Quote Link to comment

CenTexDodger
Or turn the compass off. The compass in the 60CS only works well when held horizontally. If it is vertical, it acts weird. Unless you have it mounted so that it can easily be switched from vertical to horizontal, the compass would be of little use. Quote Link to comment

MENU MENU SETUP HEADING You might switch the threshold speed and time to something that disables the auto selection of the magnetic compass when you slow down. I had "ishoos" as you're having before doing this. Quote Link to comment
