Gc Fast Approaching Gczzzz

With the limit for the GC number fast approaching GCZZZZ and the limit of some GSPrs to six digits for the waypoint name what is Geocaching.com's plan for the GC number roll over. My GPSr will take eight characters for the waypoint name but a friend who has a Etrax Yellow GPSr will only take 6 digits for the waypoint. So does Geocaching.com have a prevision for this or will everyone who has a GPSr with only six digit waypoints have to buy a new GPSr and thus make Garmin a good stock option, LOL.

The plan is to add another digit to the ID numbers. Making it seven digits, but since all start with GC those can likely be ignored.

I'm far from an expert on these things, but I already use ExpertGPS and edit out the "GC" at the front of the tags so I don't have to go through every single cache in my machine to find what I want, and everything doesn't live under "G-H" on my GPSr list. I need things to be easy.

I have a Yellow Etrex. I'll just dump the G at the beginning and use Cxxxxx.
