Temperature Units - 60csx

Why do I need to tell my Garmin 60CSx whether to use Fahrenheit or Celsius units?

 

If it displays temperature somewhere, then I have missed it.

using nmea as your protocol you can hook up the 60 to an external device - like a fishfinder for example. doing so allows you to receive data from that device including depth and water temperature (i think there's one more data type that I'm forgetting also).
