The following is a promotional message about a free geocaching contest:

Montana GPS Quest

Finding caches in Twin Cities could win you a trip to Montana

June 5, 2006  Minneapolis/St. Paul  Twin City residents have a chance to “Find what you’re looking for in Montana” through a promotional contest sponsored by Travel Montana, the state’s tourism group. As part of the contest, residents can enter to win a trip for four to Big Sky Country.

The campaign includes radio promotions, on-air giveaways, and a geocache search within Minneapolis for 28 geocache postcards depicting locations in Montana. Residents can enter to win the trip for four by visiting www.montanagpsquest.com.

Using a GPS, or Global Positioning System, Questers can search for each day’s postcard cache placed about Minneapolis by using the GPS coordinates and clues posted on the web site. New clues and coordinates will be posted by 9 AM each day of the contest. And for Questers who don’t own a GPS unit, photographic clues and a virtual online search are also available on the web site.

“Geocaching is a treasure hunt for our era,” said Katy Peterson of Travel Montana. “This promotion is meant to be fun and unique. The sense of adventure this contest and Quest provide fits well with the type of adventure found in Montana and sought after by residents of the Twin Cities.”

Daily prizes will be given away June 11th – July 8th. The first person to locate the geocache and call in to 1.800.404.2180 will claim the daily prize, with winners being posted on the web site. All participants will be able to post their finding on the web site’s online blog.

Local radio stations are also hosting “Montana Trivia” call in contests where winners may be eligible to win their own Travel Montana GPS Unit.

The promotion began June 7th with geocache’s going live daily June 11th through July 8th.
