OpinioNate
The following message has been sent to all waymarkers still managing categories as individuals (pre-launch category owners). Please feel free to discuss this transition here. Greetings from Groundspeak! Since our soft launch last fall, Waymarking.com has seen incredible growth and now boasts over 13,000 individual waymarks! We would like to thank you for your contributions to this amazing feat, and hope that you'll aid us moving the site into the next phase of development. As many of you know, our latest update introduced the concept of Group Management. We hope this new management system will help distribute the responsibility of managing new waymark submissions, and foster a sense of community and shared ownership among participants of the website. As part of the transition to this new strategy we are requesting all individual category owners create a Group, recruit at least two officers, and assign their category to that Group. To create a Group for your category please follow these steps: 1. Visit your My Page and click My Groups 2. Click Create New Group 3. Enter a Group name and short description for your Group 4. Click the "open enrollment: OFF" link to toggle Open Enrollment Now that you have created your Group, the next step is to recruit at least two other Premium Members to assist you. You can do this by inviting specific members or by posting a link to your Group in the discussion forums. For tips on recruiting please visit the link below: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=128144 To view the Group Management FAQ: http://www.Waymarking.com/help/group.aspx?f=-1 Once you have recruited your officers a dropdown menu will automatically appear on your Group page listing the categories which can be assigned to that Group. This dropdown will not be available unless you have the required number of officers (2). The deadline for individually managed categories is set for June 15th, at which time all un-grouped categories will be put up for adoption. If you are no longer interested in managing your category please feel free to allow this time period to lapse so other waymarkers can continue the work you began. If you have further questions, feel free to post in the discussion forums or respond to this email with a link to your category and your specific question. We have many new features in development which we hope will continue to engage, educate and entertain, as well as plans to create exciting incentives for our most enthusiastic contributors. Happy Waymarking! Link to comment

+ChapterhouseInc
is there any way a list of these 'at-risk' categories can be posted? several have complied (GA markers), but others have not (and haven't been approving marks either: Devilish Locations). Link to comment

The "join a group" link shows the latest auto-generated categories at the top - each one has "Managers" appended to the end of the name of the category. It's the easiest way to track them down. OpinioNate
The deadline has passed, and categories are currently being adopted. Please visit the Join A Group page to help manage one of the 80 categories which have been abandoned. Unpinning and closing. -Nate Link to comment
