+out4awalk+B
For the past few days, when I try to view a cache I get the message: "The Google Maps API key used on this web site was generated for a different web site. You can generate a new key for this web site at http://www.google.com/apis/maps" Is anyone else getting this message? Does anyone know if this is this a problem for geocaching.com, or just me? Thanks. Edited May 19, 2006 by out4awalk Link to comment
+geognerd
You're not alone. I've gotten this message a few times too. Anyone know what the problem is? Link to comment

+out4awalk+B
Possible solution: See: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...dpost&p=2204847 Thanks. It's possible. I'm finding now that it's inconsistent. Not all caches give the message. A particular cache might give me the message at one point, but if I look at it later (after clearing cache, rebooting, etc, to see if I can duplicate) the message doesn't appear. I'm using Firefox. I suppose it could be a browser problem. Oh well, I should be out in the woods anyway. Thanks again. Edited May 19, 2006 by out4awalk Link to comment
+ParrotRobAndCeCe
The problem appears when there is adouble slash in the address bar: http://www.geocaching.com//somethinghere/somethingelse/blah/blah/blah When there is a single slash: http://www.geocaching.com/somethinghere/somethingelse/blah/blah/blah it works fine. Somewhere in the web site's code is a badly formed URL that you occasionally get directed to. If you see the double slash after the ".com" part of the URL, get rid of one of them and it works fine. "Paws"itraction
I have noticed it happens mostly with older caches, and ONLY when I select the cache link from the Google Earth cache listings in the "Fly To" section on the left. If I pick the cache link that pops up after selecting the cache icon on the map, it works fine. Link to comment
