yiek Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Hello, I wonder if it is possible to display the Geocaching.com-KML-File also in the browser-application Google Maps (maps.google.com), not only in Google Earth. This would be very handy for if you are using a public computer such as in an internet cafe where you cannot install the Google Earth application first. Or if you are using Linux (Google Earth does not run on Linux) Is it possible somehow? If so, how can it be done? Thanks, yiek Quote

yiek Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Hi Raine, I have seen this GoogleMaps integration that is shown on every GC-listing lately. But as far as i can see it can only display one cache at a time. (or am I missing something?) And adress search does noct seem to work (at least for adresses in Germany). I'd like to have something that shows alle caches in an area as an overview map (like in Google Earth). Is this possible somehow? Thanks, yiek Quote
ejnewman Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 (edited) ...which is exactly what that link does. Maybe google can't search addresses in Germany yet, but if I zoom in on Germany it works just fine. Edited May 18, 2006 by ejnewman Quote

Markwell Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Or search by nearest cache and then click the map, and then click the Google Map... Quote
yiek Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 Ah, I just found out why it did not work for me... For some reason this does not work in Firefox....IE works just fine! Maybe Groundspeak can fix this so that it works in Firefox as well. Thanks for your help. :-) Quote
Raine Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Works fine in Firefox. Sounds like you're having some technical issues with your browser. -Raine Quote
yiek Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 OK, now i really found out the problem: Adblock Extension I put the whole GC-site on the white list and now everything works fine Quote
M-T-P Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 (edited) Works fine in Firefox. Sounds like you're having some technical issues with your browser. -Raine Thank goodness for tech support! What would we have done without it? Edited May 19, 2006 by M-T-P Quote
family232 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Have you seen http://www.geocaching.com/seek/gmnearest.aspx yet? I wasn't aware of this ability! Thanks! However I cannot seem to be able to plot multiple caches on the same map. What am I missing? mg Quote
