Our intention was humor. Sometimes something that is harmless and funny when spoken amongst friends does not come out the same way when commited to print. For that we apologize. There was and is no intention to cause injury to anyone either as individuals or as groups. With these thoughts in mind, we have reviewed our profile page and cache pages to remove any possibly insulting references. If anyone desires to have further conversation regarding anything to do with the Florida A.P.E. Geocaching Squad (F.A.G.S.), please feel free to send an email to that profile. Note to Capaldo: I read your email and acted upon it. The polite message you sent did not seem to be asking for any other reply. I apologize for not replying more directly.

Fair enough. My intent in starting the thread was to discuss the community's feelings about this type of thing and that has been accomplished. I understand that this team didn't intend anything negative and I appreciate that they have considered the effect of their actions.

 

I apologize to the team for the fact that this thread has possibly blown the thing out of proportion in some ways, as is the tendency on these forums. If I were king of GC.com, I'd prefer that 'F.A.G.S." be left out of the cache titles, but I ain't. This cache has been thoroughly discussed in this thread, and with that, I'll lock it. If anyone else wants to explore it further, they can start their own thread.
