Meridian Color Vs Explorist 210

Recommended Posts

The screen on the color unit gets pretty washed out in sun light, using the back light helps, but cuts down on battery time. also it is about 5 year old technology, It does have a great storage system with the SD card

The 210 has new technology and unless you need gobs of storage it should do you fine.

The only problem is I would like to be able to place indvidual cities on there (probably from mapsource topo) would the 210 have enough memory?

Well it looks like it has 22 megs of memory which will give you quite a bit. I had most of So Cal on a 16 meg

card when I was using my gold.

You will not be able to use mapsoure it will have to be magellan mapping

mapsource?? sorry i am definetley a newb and haven't check out all the maps. Is mapsource just a more detailed map set from magellan? I have heard that a TOPO would be the best for a handheld...any suggestions?
