stevethecache
I can get both units at the exact same price. Only problem is, the Meridian Color is a refurbished unit. I want to know which unit boasts better mapping features and which would be the best unit for geocaching. Thanks for the help! Quote Link to comment
vagabond
The screen on the color unit gets pretty washed out in sun light, using the back light helps, but cuts down on battery time. also it is about 5 year old technology, It does have a great storage system with the SD card The 210 has new technology and unless you need gobs of storage it should do you fine. +embra
I wouldn't worry about the refurbished aspect; they're checked out thoroughly and as reliable as anything else. Read this thread for meridian/210 pros and cons. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Unless you geocache someplace where there is no sunlight, stay away from the Meridian Color. Ever try to read your cell phone screen in sunlight? Same deal with the MeriColor. Quote Link to comment

vagabond
Well it looks like it has 22 megs of memory which will give you quite a bit. I had most of So Cal on a 16 meg card when I was using my gold. You will not be able to use mapsoure it will have to be magellan mapping Edited April 27, 2006 by vagabond Quote Link to comment

Is mapsource just a more detailed map set from magellan? I have heard that a TOPO would be the best for a handheld...any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
