+ndimmick
I would like to take scanned or already digital map images and create exlporist compatible maps from them. I have used GPS TrackMaker to import these images and calibrate them so they display correctly on the computer, but I have no idea how to make a map into the "imi" file that the explorist series uses for their detailed map images. Can anyone give me some insight into how this might be done? Quote Link to comment
+Cornix
Have a look at the msh-tools website. Thales Navigation manufactures MobileMapper device for professional georeference. To work with the MobileMapper Thales Navigation has MobileMapper Office (MMO) software available for public download from their ftp site. It was found by Varga Csongor (September 2003) that background maps created with MMO are also good for Meridian series. Since that time significant progress was archived in custom maps creation, join them with MapSend maps, create custom topo maps and POIs etc. These programs and findings can be found in mobilemapper2 yahoo group and on this site ... +geognerd
I checked out the MSH Tools website. Has anybody tried this for exporting shapefiles to the eXplorist? If so, did it work decently? I have street data for my area in shapefile format, and always wished I could put that on my GPSr instead of paying for DirectRoute. I'm willing to sacrifice autorouting in order to save $100 and use data I already have. Quote Link to comment
