+wilsonjw Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I propose a new category for Direction and Distance Markers, as a sub-category under Signs. These direction and distance markers are typically a pole with multiple direction signs nailed / bolted to it. I've started a group to facilitate starting this category, if sufficient interest develops.
+Jeremy Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 (edited) Do you mean the humorous signs? We have one in Fremont (seattle) with an arrow that points kind of down and says "Atlantis" among more realistic locations within Fremont like the lenin statue. If you weren't aware of it, Fremont is the center of the universe. Edited April 2, 2006 by Jeremy

When I lived in Seattle, Discovery Park was the center of the universe...looks like the center has moved somewhat east <grin>....

+Jeremy Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I joined up. If you need an officer for now I can be there for you. I'm not sure if the Mash exhibit travels, but I saw it once at the Smithonian. That'd be a good one to get. What would be really fun is to try and find two posts that point at each other.

I'm located just a few miles south of the Smithsonian, so that will be an easy one for me...thanks for the pointer....
