+braggsoldier
Hello, I have a garmin gpsmap 60c, and it has always worked fine. But the other day my laptop (a hp zv6000 running xp home) stopped recognizing it. Every time i plug it in it says new hardware found, then brings up the wizard to install the drivers. i dont have my disk on me since i am out of the country, but downloaded the usb drivers from garmins website, ran the install program for them, and it still will not work. Does anybody have any ideas for me. All the help I can get is greatly appreciated! Braggsoldier Quote Link to comment
rynd
The only thing I can think of is to remove the driver and then reinstall it. I hope that helps. Quote Link to comment
+braggsoldier
I already uninstalled the driver and reinstalled with no change. the weird thing is that all my other usb devices work in the ports. Could it be an internal problem with the unit? Quote Link to comment
rynd
It seems like I had a similar problem in that my computer would ask for the drives after I had already installed them, but after I reinstalled them it would work again. Sorry, I wish I could be of more help. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
Garmin is a little picky about how USB drivers are updated. There is a good discussion of (and solution to) the problem in this thread. Quote Link to comment
