Jurgen & co
It is important that your garmin is hearing in the right modus, set your "Serial data format"to Garmin. You can find that in Main Menu, Setup, Interface. Quote Link to comment
PDOP's
A common cause of this is a PDA hotsync program grabbing the com port at boot up. Quote Link to comment
gordo101
The Serial Data Format is set to "Garmin" I do not have phone/fax software installed, nor do I have a PDA. Quote Link to comment

gordo101
I really don't have anything else that is serial to test the ports with. I checked system information for com3 and it appears to be installed and operative. Quote Link to comment

gordo101
FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK!! I cleaned the garmin end of the cable with alcohol and a Q-tip. Tried it twice and worked both times. Thank you all for the help and the inputs. I really did learn a lot along the way. (most of my learning comes by accident!!) Quote Link to comment
