+currykev
This is probably a basic question really. But I'm confused. My prefered method of checking coordinates is the British Grid sytem (TQ00000000 etc.).I've just added my first waypoint on the Garmin Venture GPS which shows as N00:00.000 and W00:00.000. I can check British grid on Multimap and it works a treat, but Geocache does not accept this method for entering coordinates. And also, although Geocache can accept Decimal coordinates,I don't believe the Garmin GPS does. And I cannot seem to get a map position using the N00:00.000 and W00:00.000 method. So I just need the easiest way to check my GPS cordinates on a mapping website before adding to Geocache. I bet you're all confused now too. Quote Link to comment

But let me use the example location you have in your signature to see if I have things straight. TQ 2252080490 looks like it's near London and is equivalent to: N 51.51001° W 0.23588° To convert this to the degrees/minutes format usually used on the GC site multiply the decimal part by 60 (60 minutes/degree) to get: N 51° 30.601' W 0° 14.153' You can set your Venture GPS to any of these three formats. To set it to decimal degrees use a Location Format of hddd.ddddd°. Quote Link to comment
+currykev
Thanks for the info.I guess I can use GPS in British Grid mode to check location on Multimap, then I can change GPS to Decimal Degrees to add the coordinates to Geocache.com.Cheers. Quote Link to comment
