+hueyflyer & copilot
We have been caching in Calif for the past week on vacation and have found several caches where the container was anywhere from a micro capsule to a 1.5 x 6 tube all of which were described as bison containers. What in the heck is a bison container? Never ran across the term in the NE where we normally cache Quote Link to comment

+hueyflyer & copilot
Thanks must be the cacher who hid the larger oneswas using the term liberally. One was a bamboo tube 1.5" X 6.00" . I must admit though it as a cleaver hide with the bamboo tube laid in and amoung growing bamboo . Yes, I think I will purchase someo the "scuba" ones. They look very cool. Thanks! +briansnat
I live in the NE and have used Bison cylinders. I find the O ring rots out fairly quickly though. You can easily replace them with a trip to the hardware store, but you really have to keep an eye on them if you are the cache owner. Quote Link to comment

If you want your o rings to last longer, try coating them with some vasline before you place the container. Seals that have been coated are more water proof and dont rot nearly as quick. When you do your maintinance on them add a little more vasaline to the ring. Quote Link to comment
