Grasscatcher Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Has anyone seen a comparison in actual performance between the older Garmin GA27 and the newer GA25 and possibly the Glisson MCX external antennas? I'm already aware that external antennas work well (improve signal strength reception), just wondering if the newer ones actually have been proven to work any better than my 10 yr old "27". Quote
+Timpat Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Here's a great Review by Allory Deiss. Based on this I bought the GA25MCX. Quote
+allory Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 re: the review comparing the Garmin GA25 and Gilsson, I don't have one of the older Garmins to compare them to, but just worked with what I had available. I did compare them to an older Lowe and Titan which are BNC rather than MCX. since those two couldn't be used on the same receiver and are less commonly available i didn't include them in the review, but the results when using them on my GPS V were similar.
