The Mother Of All Catagorizations

Recommended Posts

In a never ending quest to get organized, I’ve had this file of the Dewey Decimal system that’s been revised, added to, deleted from, re-formatted, copied and recopied from computer to computer for, oh… about fifteen years now, and I thought it might be a good skeletal structure over which to flesh out this categorization chaos thing going on in the Waymarking forum.

For your review and critique, my dear fellow Waymarkers. I’ve tried to define the criteria that would place a proposed Waymark under People, Place or Thing, and tried to include the extant sub-categories. (If they’re not there, it’s because I didn’t know what to do with them.) And I glossed over the Fun-and-Goofy subcategories, just trying to build a structure. And I admit that the last major category, Things, is sparse, cuz I’m tired and going to bed now. So I’m posting it! To share this intellectual labour! Have at ‘er!
