+Explorer99 Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I've tried to search for this information as I'm sure it has been covered before but it seems that search has been disabled. I want to adopt a cache and was wondering what the owner has to do to transfer ownership to me. Thanks. Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 if the gc.com site was working properly I could tell you. Quote
TontoDog Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 There are a couple of caches in my area that need tending to and I have emailed the owners with never a response. 2 don't have recent logs and one has moved out of state. I don't know if this was included in your question, but maybe there is also a way to take over an abandoned cache. Quote
+Explorer99 Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 The owner of the cache I want to adopt has also moved but still logs into the site and I think would let me adopt the cache if I asked. I just want to make it as easy as possible for him to do it. On another note, I tried to adopt a cache where the owner had left geocaching and the state admin said NO, and disabled it. Bummer, so I guess you have to get the owner to transfer it to you. Quote
+Quiggle Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 If you can contact the owner, and they are willing to adopt it out, you can use this link: http://www.geocaching.com/adopt If you cannot contact the owner, send an email to contact@ geocaching.com with the GC# of the cache and a request to adopt. They will take it from there. Quote
+Explorer99 Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 Great, thanks for the information. Quote
