+2oldkids
Want to get started geocaching, and my old Eagle expedition cratered. I want to hold off on the big purchase until the new generation of chips (SIRF III?) are available. What do you pros think about the Lowrance IFinder GO2 for starters? Other suggestions? +2oldkids
Scratch the GO2--finally realized it doesn't have PC connectivity. Would still like suggestions, though. Quote Link to comment
+wilkintj
I'm a newbie as well, just got a GPSr for Christmas ... From what I've read, pretty much any basic GPS will serve the purpose, it just depends on how many extra bells and whistles you want. I got an eTrex vista C and have found a few caches in the last couple days with it and it's worked great. It's color though and has some auto routing features that not everyone may want to pay the extra money for. I also like that it has the ability to function as a barometer - which I think would've come in handy on past canoe trips in Quetico. Oh, and it's got a USB connection to the computer which is pretty slick. Quote Link to comment
