cad-guy
I notice that there is a large data base of benchmarks on the GC website. My curiosity has me asking: Are these all found and logged by cachers or have they been pulled from government data? The reason I ask is that I was doing a search for benchmarks in a very small town in Oklahoma and noticed that there were about 8 bm's around. Some were way out in the country, and I dont think they would have been found there by a geocacher, unless they were told coods on where to look. Thanks for any info you can give. +Black Dog Trackers
cad-guy - It was pulled from government data (National Geodetic Survey). The date of the data is around 2000. If any of us has found the marker it will have an icon with a red exclamation mark in a circle in the first column ("Icon"). If any of us went to the marker's site and could not find it, then a blue sad-face icon will be there. If you think you'd like to hunt and log benchmarks, you should read all of the Benchmark Hunting FAQ page. Have fun! Quote Link to comment
