rocketpunch
I can't believe it. My first TB went 1200+ miles and then went missing when the cache it was placed in disappeared. No one knows what happend. It loks like it probably got muggled. Apparently there where some other TB in the cache too. Bummer. I'll miss the little guy. Quote Link to comment
AtlantaGal
I've had this happen to two of my TBs. One I turned into a virtual TB and the other I plan to rerelease with the "copy tag". Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
Wait a while before re-releasing your bug, it could turn up again. In the meantime you should remove the bug from being listed on the cache page. On the bug page, in a pull-down menu that starts with 'Recalculate Distance' is the option to 'Mark Bug Missing' this will place it in an unknown location. You can always pull it back from there whenever you want to. Quote Link to comment
Renegade Knight
It happens. I've had my bug turn up after a year of being MIA. Quote Link to comment
rocketpunch
I hope the little guy turns up. In the meantime I'm going to release similar TB with the same mission and see what happens. Hopefully he won't meet the same fate. Quote Link to comment
Highpointer
One of my pet peeves is geocachers putting travel bugs in exposed caches and other caches that have a high risk of becoming lost or stolen. Geocachers should use common sense and not put travel bugs in caches that have a high risk of becoming lost or stolen. If this happens to a cache with travel bugs inside, then all of the travel bugs in the cache become lost as well. (That's one of the reasons why I don't like travel bug hotels, because many of them are in easily-accessible, exposed locations and become muggled, but that is a topic for discussion another time). In my opinion, it is better to hold onto a travel bug for a little longer, rather than putting it in a risky cache. Ken Akerman (a.k.a. +Criminal
Welcome to the club. It's a club full of sad members who would rather not be members, with sad looks on their faces, who sigh when they look at their TB list, who try to find some hope it will tun up again, and who have a lonely "COPY" tag in the drawer. Yeah, that's us. Quote Link to comment
