SilverSeeker
Ok, this may be another dumb question, but here goes. I just purchased a Magellan Explorist 100 and I'm wanting to use Easy GPS for my basic waypoint management, but on the first screen where it tells me to select or add a GPS, I click on Magellan, but see nothing listed for the explorist? ? +geognerd
I downloaded EasyGPS just to learn about GPS data conversions, without actually connecting to a GPSr. In the preferences I have no GPSrs set under "My GPS Receivers." It still let me open a GPX file just fine. I too noticed the lack of eXplorist under the GPSrs listed in EasyGPS. You said you just want to use EasyGPS for waypoint management, so I assume you know that the eXplorist 100 does not have PC connectivity. Have you tried looking at GSAK for managing caches and waypoint data? Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
EasyGPS doesn't support the file format of the Explorist 210, 300, 400, 500, 600, XP. http://www.GPSBabel.org (and thus GSAK) does. I'll assume If you're using an exp 100 with the aftermarket serial port, you would have mentioned that. Quote Link to comment
+dino_hunters
The explorist 100/200/300 do not have pc connectivity, so you can;t use a program to manage waypoints, unless you buy this special kit. http://pc-mobile.net/mex123.htm I'm not sure if it would void your warranty or not Quote Link to comment
SilverSeeker
Aww man, that sucks!! Guess I should've done my homework a little better before buying. I assumed that any new gps these days had that option. Oh well, thanks anyways guys, I'll use GSAK. Quote Link to comment
