Mcraven
I've used NG Topo! State extensively but saw an ad for the Delorme software. $50 seems pretty good for what it says it will deliver. Who likes what? and why? Please! Thanks, Mcraven Quote Link to comment
+Byron & Anne
Actually I use both. NG uses USGS top maps some of which haven't been updated in years. The gound is mostly the same, but the roads and buildings might not be. USGS also has all the ground features. Delorme will often not include some lakes and tarns, at least that's what I've noticed. Delorme does have auto routing, which will route you along roads or trails. NG you have to trace your path. Delorme does seems to be more current on man made features. My navigator, (Anne) will often have a laptop computer sitting on her lap while we're driving. Delorme has a split screen feature that will allow you see two different levels of zoom at the same time, which is great for traveling. It depends on what I'm doing on which one I use. For hiking I like the NG to get more of the natural features. Good luck Quote Link to comment
+tomm2
NT Topo will not transfer waypoints from the desktop app to the handheld. Quote Link to comment
+Greymane
You might want to look at Memory-Map Discoverer. It will give you the full range of USGS state maps and a whole lot more for less than $100. It does 3D views and has a handheld and PC version bundled together. I love it. Quote Link to comment
+TotemLake
Delorme Topo Quad 3D provides the USGS maps in close up view. I tried the NG thinking I was moving to a superior product and realized just how many features I was going to miss from the Delorme's software. Quote Link to comment
