(Let me know if the image doesn't work...)

There is a clear view of the designation, but I can't seem to find it. If anyone can explain what I'm doing wrong, please let me know so I can figger it out next time.

TIA!

Old Bill, the photo doesn't work for me. Who monumented it? CGS, BLM, Florida DOT...? People have run across stations like this, even NGS stations, that aren't in the database. It's probably just not in the system. There's three within a half block of my house that are City of Albuquerque, although they might be sending them to the NGS soon.

You might create a "Dang it" list, of the non PID stations you run across.

Sorry about the link...Should have known.

The disc says...

(Top)

U.S. Coast & Goedetic Survey

and State Survey

(Center)

Station

No. CB10

---|---

Elevation

(Bottom)

Feet

1955

I was thinking that because it was the USC&GS, it would be in there. I know that there a lot of state/county/city ones that won't have any listing in the DB.

Oh well.....

NGS does not have data on many of those State Survey marks. The work was done back in the 1934-35 era as a make work project by the gov't. The funds ran out before much of the states finished the work. Also much of the work was below standards of the NGS.

NGS will not publish info on marks of which they do not have the supporting fields notes etc. read this about the Flordia work.
