Hide A Key.

Went to a cache today and it said it was a "hide a key." What is that?

A small magnetic device that is designed to hold a spare key, under your car, or near your home. usually about 1 1/2 in wide and 3 inches long.

Oh, that kind of hide a key. Thought it was a type of cache game.

I hope that's what they meant. There are hide-a-key rocks and stuff too..

 

I have a hide-a-key cache near my place, it was our first find!

  Unfortunately, there is something that many cache hiders don't quite seem to get.  Hide–A-Keys are not weatherproof.  If you use one as a cache container, where it will be exposed to the elements, the log book will get wet, and most likely will be ruined.  Wrapping it in a plastic bag really doesn't help much.

A good reason to use waterproof paper (Adventure Paper from NG or Rite-In-The-Rain are two examples). Also placing the cache in protected area helps.

Answer: My favorite micro hide. Magnetic means no harm, no foul. If a muggle finds it, they often put it back.
