+WWonka
Does anyone know of a good method for importing GPS waypoint data into National Geographic Topo? I can import waypoint data from my GPSr into National Geographic Topo, but when I try importing waypoint data from a file (.gpx, csv) on my PC, Topo fails to import the data. Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
One way to import a .gpx file would be to open it with G7toWin, send it to your GPSr, and then transfer it to NG TOPO. +Crystal Sound
I find I'm doing similar with NG Topo on my Mac. I've tried using MacGPSBabel and a few other programs for conversions, but almost anything I've tried, fails. So, my GPS becomes the conversion tool. I find it's easier to load files (or whatever) into my GPS in whatever program i need to put them in, and then download them into whatever program I need the data, such as Topo. Yea, its a little clunky of a process, but it works for me. My unit only holds 500 waypoints, so I end up having to keep multiple setup files for the different "duties" and transferring whichever batch I need into it. (geocaching, benchmarking, national map corps, misc waypoints) That, at least helps in not having a massive number of waypoints that arent needed show up in Topo (or whatever). Quote Link to comment
