Guest Stevie-D
Hi guys and gals, I was just wondering what is the cheapest, legal way to obtain a GPS unit... I'd really like to join the sport however I'm afraid GPS's in Australia are relatively expensive. Could anyone suggest a few budget models that perform really well. I may possibly borrow one from school... but we'll see. Happy Geocaching all! Stevie-D sdampf@optushome.com.au Quote Link to comment
Guest Ultralight
Im from Sydney, Most boating supply shops sell the Garmin Etrex for $260, considering this unit cost about $100 in the US, it isnt much more expensive than it is in the US (with our exchange rate of about 0.54) I use my etrex for everything from Flying, camping and Geocaching, the Etrex is the cheapest i have found in OZ with decent features, it even works ok in Sydney CBD where i live. Guest Richard Amirault
You might also try the on-line auction house eBay for a used unit. Many folks have bought a new unit and want to get rid of the old one. www.ebay.com Richard in Boston Quote Link to comment
