Hi to all I'm new so new in fact that I have never done it before . I got a garmin nuvi 250w for Christmas. My wife Michelle and I are the kind of people who like it outside most of the time but in winter we have nothing we like to do. We bought the garmin for fishing and for just us to get outside in winter (something for us old folk) and not get hurt doing it. We have no idea what to do to get started we have no idea how to get maps or even where to get them. I have been looking and find them real expensive I know that we can and will find cheaper maps to use and I know the good people on this forum will steer me in the right direction so with that we will take all helpful notes and we will try not to ask to many stupid questions ,have a Merry Christmas from Don & Michelle.

Hi to all, now I know that my questions now and my questions later will peg me as a dumb a** but as you all know some one asked them before me. The first thing is how do I get started do I regerister ,do I have to buy any thing to start . I have a Garmin nuvi 250w. I also want to be able to use the garmin on the boat to locate fish places and have them in the unit for later fishing trips. I am also interested in geocashing. I need the exercise we all do here and being outside in the winter well sking is out to old for a snow board so walking holding a GPS. sounds like my speed. I need to know what to do to get started we live in southern New Brunswick (the Saint John area) and from what I've heard there are plenty of places to go .
