  1. I started out paying to be a premium member by the month thinking this geocaching thing was just a whim, over 700 caches later I think I am committed. My question is how do you switch tfrom paying month to month to paying for the year?
  2. Right now I am into the finding. Setting goals and seeing new places planning a good milestone cache. Even areas that I thought I knew well a get suprised. I do like hiding but only if it has a purpose. An interesting place or view or just a good hike. I think there is another category of cacher too, that is one that collects and move travelers (TBs and Coins) Oops I forgot about the Puzzle cache fiends.
  3. I saw this morning that I got charged for another account. I think what happened is that last month I was going out of town and saw that my account expired when I was trying to get queries as I was going out of town so I manually paid then two days later my account was charged again. Is there a way to get credit for 2 months and cancel one of the accounts?
  4. Thanks, These will be useful, if not now then sometime. Thanks again for the PM

  6. Hummm? Don't know what happened here and with time time difference it took awhile for me to find out. Thanks WWH for the heads up. What I was trying to do is find some art work for an avitar and/or a geocoin with a Scottish theme. Guy in a kilt with a GPS, or a flag, what ever may work. My mom is from South Uist and Dad was from Dunoon and Glasgow so that is my connection. Any Ideas? Sorry about the earlier post.
  7. Yeah, I agree with you on that. A road trip is fun to track.
  8. If they were going a distance that would be cool, but all 11 caches where with in a few miles of each other and he still has it.
  9. I was on vacation a few weeks ago and dropped off a TB I had found at home. I like to track TBs I have helped move. Well, a cacher grabbed it and on 2 different days dropped and grabbed that TB 11 times in different caches. I guess it is neat to log a ton of caches but that seems to be kind of a cheap log. What is your opinions out there?
  10. Really? An archived cache is open for other users. So if I archive a cache that got muggled until I repair it it could be taken over? Your right. accually I didn't realize the difference. Cool I will have to try that

  12. When I started geocaching I came across a cache and DNF. I checked the website and saw that it had many DNF. After a few months I hunted again and DNF. I e-mailed the owner a few times with no answer. It has had no activity except DNTs for months. I am doing a series of caches in that area and that site would fit nicely as a location for one in my series. How long does a cache site stay "owned"?
  13. What about a cache that seems to be MIA with many DNFs and no response from owner from several DNFers. It was in a location that I covet because I am doing a series in that area. This has been going on for 9 months. At least 1 person asked the reviewer to do something, I don,t know if there was a private response to that.
  14. [Yes i have learned that there is a lot of little things to know. I end up finding out by trial and error. Right now I think i have the reveiwer a little ticked at me because he expects me to know everything right away. Well life goes on. quote name=Miragee' date='Jun 13 2007, 09:56 AM' post='2914232] Yup Some reviewers may not revisit a page to look for notes until time allows - which could be a while. They are not auto-notified of new notes. Sending an email with the GC number and relavent info will probably get the ball rolling again. Thank you for this information, StarBrand! I submitted four caches for review last night . . . three of the caches were approved right away. I goofed up the fourth and didn't see the Reveiwer Note until this morning. I posted a note to the cache page, but also sent an email to the Reviewer as a result of reading your post. The cache got approved right away, but wouldn't have if I had not known to send the email . . .
  15. Thanks for the look up. This cache is over the border in WI. I did get a response last night. Thanks.
  16. Notes on cache page. From the question I guess I should have emailed,Huh?
  17. I hid my 7th cache over memorial weekend and submitted to publish. 2 days later the reveiwer told me I had a few problems with it. I fixed the problems and sent a note to the reveiwer and have not heard from him. I have inquired twice via notes but nada. What do I do next?? Thanks andrewmcc
  18. I am assuming that you are referring to the MAP screen. If so the 2 buttons on the top left side of your unit will move the view distance in and out. Try this to see if that is the problem. When you have the map screen zoomed way out, it is hard to tell what is what. yup you are right, when you are zoomed in it is fine. It is when it is zoomed out a little way it is a problem
  19. I have a Garmin Etrex legend. Is the a way to enter a bunch of waypoints but only see the one on the screen that you are searching for? If I am in a high cache saturation area the labels are all on top of each other
  20. I have been looking for a cache and both times the GPS was turning me in cicles then my wife noticed power lines over head. Do they affect gPS?
  21. I had the same problem when I first start a whole 3 months ago. When you put waypoint numbers (coordinates) they have to be the exact format which is how they are written on the Cache site. example N 45° 21.057 W 093° 45.336
