  1. Carrying a concealed weapon is illegal in Canada.Plus if you were to wear one in the open the police would be on you so fast your head would spin. I went down to Montana last summer for vacation and I was surprised that you could wear a gun practically anywhere you wanted except for places with a no weapons sign posted. met some friendly Texans Living there boy were they proud of their guns. they liked me so much they gave me a huge wicked looking knife More to see, More to do
  2. I just had to come share. My brother and I placed our first cache on the weekend. well more mine since I prepared it and he was along for the ride. I came home this morning to find a e-mail that it was found and the First finder liked it http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=55831 More to see, More to do
  3. I took my brother with me on a cache this weekend. as I was getting the goodie bag out of the SUV he took of with my GPS, he has making zig zags all over the place I bellowed at him to stay on the trail but he wouldn't listen. I to yell at him to wait for me. He eventually found the Cache right beside the trail, now if he listened to me the vegetation wouldn't have gotten trampled. Men sigh More to see, More to do
  4. quote:Originally posted by GOT GPS?: Just imagine if a pair of gps units could communicate with each other, to figure out how far apart each other is, and compare that with each units calculation of it's position from the satellites. Then your gps can tell you if you or your friend is closer to the cache. Always different...Hit refresh http://www.flint.umich.edu/cgi-bin/maze?90+35+4+1+0+0+0+0+255+255+255 Hate to tell you this but there is a GPS unit that can comunicate location to another of the same unit The Rino More to see, More to do

  8. What I want to know is what happens to Travel bugs when they reach their final goal? Do they begin a new trek, mailed back to the owner, or does the one who fulfilled the bugs destiny get to keep them? I'm asking this because I'm planning on releasing a few bugs into the wild and I want to know what happens to them More to see, More to do
  9. I was on a cache hunt here in Alberta with my Rino 120. I was getting poor satellite reception and was quite a few feet from the actual cache but it said I was right on top of it I turned on my Waas and the Cache location jumped away from where I was standing, I then easily found the location More to see, More to do
  10. I won't trust the Ice around here we can get sudden temperature shifts. because of chinooks we can go from -30 C to +15 C in a matter of minutes. wandering out on Ice is extremely hazardous around here, yet I still see people do it More to see, More to do

  14. quote:Originally posted by Hard Oiler:I'd been thinking of hollowed out driftwood for a cache on one of the best beaches on Lake Huron. Then I saw the beachcombers collecting firewood so changed my mind. Now trying to think of something that would blend into a sand dune (a sandbox?) Wouldn't anything on a beach have the potential to wash away during a bad storm? More to see, More to do

  16. I bought the bash guard not because I'm nerdish but because I'm a big clumsy OX. I tend to accidentally break things this is where I bought it (note this is in Canadain funds)http://www.gpscentral.ca/accessories/rinobashguard.htm More to see, More to do

  20. I live In Calgary and it looks like every park has at least two or more caches. Calgary has several parks including North Americas largest Natural park http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?zip=t2a+4g4&dist=100&submit1=Submit which is making it difficult for a newbie like me to place my first cache somewhere I can easily maintain it More to see, More to do
  21. I cut the Geocaching logo off and put the official Geocache part on the container More to see, More to do
  22. I haven't hit this one yet it involved decrypting the coordinates from roman numerals http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=20590 More to see, More to do
  23. I just bought two of the Official Geocache stickers today and they are huge! I am planning a medium sized cache and the sticker will probably cover the whole box. In future I would love to see some smaller sizes offered More to see, More to do
  24. I was on a cache hunt today my GPS wasn't giving me good readings on the map page it would say I was standing right on top of it then it moved away while I was standing still. I turned on the WAAS feature and found the cache several feet away from the spot it had originally indicated. the gps will not always give you a good reading when that happens sometimes you have to fall back on old easter egg hunting techniques More to see, More to do
  25. I just visited a cache today to get my first travel bug Action Canyon there was two bugs in the cache I had looked at their goals before visiting the cache. so I knew that I couldn't help the other bug to reach his goal so I took the one I could help with it's goals http://www.geocaching.com/track/track_detail.asp?ID=1167 More to see, More to do
