  1. The Church Micro series has taken me to some great places in the UK, and to date 6 different icon types. Most of the CMs I have found have been micro's or nanos. most commonly a 35mm film canister. Some are placed inside church grounds, but most that I have come across are outside. Often the multi's require you to gather information at the church or in the church yard. There is also a website created by BaSHful that tracks the stats, associated challenges, TBs etc. all to do with the series. CM Stats
  2. Hiya I am looking for some advice with regard placing some geocaches. The route I am looking at I have walked a few times. It is all on public footpaths, but I think that some of the woods it goes through may be privately owned. I have looked on GAGB, but cannot find any land agreements for or against it. Likewise I have tried to look up using the wood names to see who the owner is, but again coming up with nothing If it is on a public right of way is it always allowed? Any advise?
  3. I would suggest Scallaig Woods in Loch Inver if you are up that far. Stunning views, a well maintained forest and paths. What about the haggis highway
  4. I got a cache about 5 miles from the calculated coordinates. It was a short multi and there was a typo in the formula, however I took a punt at the minutes and got it spot on. I was even rewarded with a ftf
  5. thanks guys. Do i need to stamp the log or just sign as normal?
  6. Hiya, I am currently working towards a church micro challenge where i need to find 4 types of cache. There are a few letterbox caches near to me, how do they differ from traditional/multi and do i need to do anything specific with them?
  7. Why do some users bother to find tb numbers online? I have seen the facebook group and also some links on catchers logs/tb pages. I'm guessing it is just about the numbers. I am anew catcher but at least read the rules, did have a lucky escape when an even newer tracker logged a picture of a TB of mine and posted it with the tracking code. Only a few discovers which were deleted. Personally I enjoy sending them out and watching them travel (I have started collecting some - buy 2 just after pay day, 1 of these gets sent out and I keep the other)
  8. I agree that is cheating. i thought the point of geocaching was the journey. For me i work away for a few weeks and then back home for a few weeks. If i can get time off when away i will take a nice walk (not bike as the ship ones have a habit of falling apart), if there is a cache in the area i will wander that way. When i am home most of my friends work during the day, so i figure why not get out and do something, so geocaching is prefect for me. I enjoy finding the caches, if i can find a few in a day that makes me happy. The last 2 days the weather has been beautiful in south east england, so i worked out a route and got a fair few church micros and any other caches on route. The idea of starting at one end and a friend the other sounds really quite dull to me - no fun journey. Power trails sound interesting, are they usually easy hides as well?
  9. I have seen that there are award coins/pin badges for 24/48/72/100 finds in a day. I have managed 24 in a day and it was a long day, great walk though. I am curious how others go about collecting so many in a day, is it all down to planning a high numbered route, or doing a midnight to midnight caching run.
  10. You could try emailing the person who discovered it. They may know / remember in whose possession they discovered it.

    TB Note

I have started adding a note to my TBs as a few have gone missing. I picked up some small cold seal pouches (roughly credit card sized) from Amazon
  12. I'm up for a race, I live in south East England, but am often in Scotland at the moment.
  13. count me in if/when the next race starts. Do you have to have placed a cahce for it to go to?

    Best Goals

I am new to geocaching and am loving it so far, especially the idea of trackables. I have sent out a few so far, my favourite is a Cat. It's goal is to meet as many pets and have a picture taken with them. My mother sent out a peace TB with the idea that when it is placed you keep in mind bringing peace or harmony to the area. What are some of the best goals that others have come across, and have many of them achieved it?
  15. I am Also a newbie. I found a TB in my second cache, though none since then, did find a few TB stickers on containers though which i thought was cool. I love the idea of trackables and i have sent out a few. 1 did go missing (cache owner confirmed that it was no longer in the cache), however i emailed the last person to visit the cache after it had been dropped off. I never got a reply, though mysteriously it then reappeared in the cache a few days later. I am planning to send out a few more TBs though planning to attach tags with their goals on them, maybe that will help
