  1. Oral soliciting? If the world is so black and white. Is green black or is it white? Come one guys. Let's open our eyes to the rainbow of colors that make up our world. Who here has watched the movie Pleasantville? Is it sex to smile at someone? Is is sex to touch someone on the shoulder? Is it sex to hold hands? Is it sex to kiss? Is it sex to French kiss? This list can, of course keep going. If it is the emotion behind the action that defines it, is it sex to see an attractive woman, think of romance with her, and smile at her at the same time, even if you don't take any further action? The same sort of list could surely be made regarding solicitations or acceptable agendas. I like life in color. Life is in color whether we want it to be or not. Groundspeak is trying to create a "picture" that is more that just black and white. In this, I fully support them. spoken like a true academic...alright, i'll come clean: religous people just scare the bejesus out of me!
  2. Wait... I paid money to this site. does that mean... I've had Groundspeak "relations?" i knew jeremy would do anything for a buck, but i didn't think he'd stoop this low!
  3. also applies to the political debate as well!
  4. To make an assumption (haha) it is probably the same reason why the cache owner didn't post this topic. Most people don't enjoy being a part in controversy. Which brings up a good point. This topic raises the big reason why we try to keep these issues out of geocaching. in full agreement...we should keep religous stuff out 'cause like sex and politics, quickly deteroriates into lot of name calling...not that there's anything wrong with sex, politics, or religion...but true gentlemenn don't discuss any of them in public 'cause it gets people so riled up
  5. add my vote for listing watchers!
  6. for those still in the market for tents or other outdoor stuff for cheap, i recommend these guys: sportsmansguide
  7. feel your pain brother...my 1st and only tb went awol for several months...after several "bugs" to team that picked it up, it was finally relocated...right to where ivan hit fla!...i've nicely asked owner of cache if he's ok and if cache is ok...said he's check it out but still no word...some bugs just seem to have bugs!
  8. strange enough, i agree w/a** on this one...geojeremy is a for profit thing (not that there's anything wrong w/that to paraphrase seinfeld) and i don't see the value in kicking in the motlley $30 as i see no value to me...as a for profit enterprside (unlike npr) i don't lose any sleep over being an el cheapo
  9. another reason why i'm not that excited about downloading
  10. forget the waas and downloading and you can go even cheaper w/101...my tag line says it all!
  11. i'm very happy w/geko 101...think it's the cheapest out there...other will caution that you can't download but i've never really had the need..
  12. much better than brags about finds! ...other one that always puzzles me is trashed hot water tanks...not only why, but how?. ..than i check my coords and realize i slipped into west virginia!
  13. what i do is pack a telescoping ultralight pole in my backpack and look for caches nearby potentiall fishing spots....fish for a while, find the cache, fish...also, look for caches that i can approach my cycle (motor or mountainbike) ...i.e. as others have said, make the caching a secondary pleasure...i mean if you really look at just caching, we're talking about using a sophisticated gadget to find a plastic box filled with junk...really not all that interesting in and of itself...however, if your out having fun in the woods, caching can be gravy on the cake
  14. i thought it was the motto of the anti-viagrists!
  15. super dumb question: are the things for gps or car anteni?..do they serve any purpose or are they strictly "decorative"?
  16. i too received a semi-flame log on one of my caches; i e-mailed poster saying sorry you didn't like, others did and description should've alerted you to the type of cache it was...also posted a note to cache page saying while this guy didn't like it, lots of others did
  17. i was having lots of problems last month when i was using explorer browser; downloaded netscape and all problems went away
